The Friends of St Andrew’s Stone Church and Cemetery in Caledon, Ontario is hosting a presentation on the meaning behind gravestone design. The talk will take place onsite on Saturday, September 27 at 2pm.

The Church was built of local limestone in 1853 by Scottish immigrants who began settling in the area in the early 1800s. It is listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places.

The talk will be delivered by Town of Caledon Heritage Planner, Cassandra Jasinski. It will focus on St Andrew’s and other historic cemeteries. After the presentation, there will be a descriptive walk through one of the oldest, still active, pioneer cemeteries in Ontario (weather permitting).

Seating is limited and the ticket price is pay as you can. The Church is located at 17621 St. Andrew’s Road in Caledon. More info can be found on the Church’s website.
