Scottish Influence in Early Toronto

2022-05-25 | 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm    Zoom

This event is now sold-out.  Thanks to everyone who registered on Eventbrite.

Scottish influence in early Toronto led to the founding of the Society. This encore presentation will closely examine the legacy of William Allan, the Society’s first President. Allan was born in Scotland and immigrated to North America when he was a teenager. Despite having little formal education, he went on to become Toronto’s wealthiest citizen.

This free online session will touch on the impact of George Brown, Alexander Wood, William Lyon Mackenzie, and other famous Scots from our city’s history. The past and the present of the Society will be reviewed as well as what our supporters can look forward to in coming months.

A Zoom link will be emailed out to everyone who registers on Eventbrite. We hope you can join us!

NOTE:  This event was rescheduled from its original date of Thursday, May 5th to Wednesday, May 25th.
