Celebrate Scotland’s national poet with a formal event in downtown Toronto!
The St. Andrew’s Society is greatly looking forward to welcoming members and guests to our traditional Burns Dinner in conjunction with the University Club of Toronto. The event follows the time-honoured format with the Address to a Haggis, the toast to The Immortal Memory and toasts to the Lassies and Laddies and musical entertainment.
We are delighted to have Head of the Scottish Government in Canada John Devine LVO, OBE as our guest speaker to toast The Immortal Memory. Born and raised in Glasgow, John is delighted to represent the Scottish Government in Canada – Scotland’s close ally and friend, with many shared perspectives on current global challenges and a warmth and affection between our peoples, unrivalled in the world.
We are also delighted after several years to welcome again renowned Canadian-Scottish tenor John McDermott for our musical entertainment during the evening.
