Highland Dance

The St. Andrew’s Society is pleased to support the teachers, students and organizations that keep Highland Dance alive in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). You can see performances from these talented performers through our social media and at our events.

Guthrie School of Dance was born out of a dream to share Scottish music, dance and culture with communities near and far. From the beginning, Guthrie Dancers have been actively involved in their local Scottish communities. Students compete in local, regional, national, and international competitions. Classes are open to ages 5 and up.

The Highlandin6 Studio is a competitive dance studio located in downtown Toronto. Under the direction of former world champion Natalie Quick, their dancers have won championships in Canada, USA, Ireland and Scotland. The dancers participate in medal test examinations through the British Association of Teachers of Dance.

Some of the best highland dancers in the country can be seen at the St. Andrew’s Charity Ball. This performance came to us from Rebecca Srebot from Highlandin6 Dance Studio at The Carlu in 2019.

This brilliant solo was delivered by Olivia Crichton from the McDonnell Highland School of Dance. It took place at the 2019 Tartan Day Mixer at The Pint Public House in Toronto.
